Description

Marvel was firing on all cylinders during the first half of the 2000s with its Ultimate universe titles, Bendis on Daredevil, Morrison on New X-Men, Bruce Jones on the Hulk, etc., but it was the edgy, cynical, satirical and irreverent X-Force makeover by Peter Milligan and Mike Allred that was really the highlight of every month for me. Of course, the new team was soon rebranded and rebooted as "X-Statix", and one of the most memorable storylines from the series was when the team clashed against Earth's Mightiest Heroes, The Avengers!

This is the best cover from the storyline (perhaps from the whole series), a lovely homage to X-Men #100, as the two teams face off against each other! This image was also used as a TPB cover and poster print.
