DescriptionA very pretty example of Frank Bellamy’s work on the UK comic strip, Garth. Bellamy began drawing the strip, which appeared in the British newspaper The Daily Mirror, in June of 1971.Similar to his previous work on Dan Dare, Bellamy put his very singular stamp on Garth, bringing a very detailed line with dynamic use of light and shading to add a depth and weight to the characters. Bellamy worked continuously on Garth for the next five years, although drawing in black and white rather than color gave him time to work on other projects. Garth appeared in the Daily Mirror from July 24, 1943, to March 22, 1997. The action-adventure strip featured an immensely strong hero who traveled across time to battle various villains. The strip ran for 50+ years and covered an incredible 165 stories. Social/Sharing |

Another awesome daily! What a great artist Frank Bellamy was, I especially loved his Heros the Spartan and Fraser of Africa strips.

Moody and atmospheric. Ghost Town was Bellamy's personal favourite of his Garth strips.

Wow! Best one I have seen. It looks like the genie is out of the bottle with you and strip art. I hope I am not the one that opened that bottle:)
