Description

A nice example of Sydney Jordan�s art from his UK science fiction comic strip, Jeff Hawke (published by The Daily Express from 1954 - 1975). The strip was known for its attention to scientific detail, well-told stories, and Jordan�s artistic capabilities. They must have been good � by the strip�s end, Jordan had written or co-written and drawn 6,474 episodes.

Jeff Hawke originals are drawn on illustration board sized 16.5 x 5.5 inches with an image area of 15 x 4.25 inches.

Very nice example, congrats! I remember Syd Jordan being at a London comics event about ten years ago. I was there to meet-up with an American friend to deliver some art and was not expecting the artist's attendance. Syd had a stack of Jeff Hawke dailes available for sale. He also had a very pushy agent assisting him. I attempted to strike-up a conversation with Syd, but the agent kept butting-in with a sales pitch. I found the scenario very off-putting and ended-up just walking away from the table. My loss, perhaps, but I didn't need the hassle of someone else commandeering the conversation . . .
