DescriptionWhile Frank Miller had wrapped up his hugely popular and influential first run on Marvel Comics' Daredevil with issue #191 in February 1983, there were a number of interesting storylines in the year that followed.In issue #196, the crippled villain Bullseye (see Daredevil #181 & 191) is kidnapped by mysterious Asian agents, and Daredevil learns that he is being transported by ship to Japan. In #197, Daredevil goes to Japan and learns that the villain Dark Wind plans to fix Bullseye's broken body for his own ends. While on the ship, Daredevil meets a mysterious Japanese girl in chains with a scarred face - it's Yuriko Oyama, Lord Dark Wind's daughter. But, in the future, you will know her as...LADY DEATHSTRIKE! Yes, one of the main villains in the second X-Men film "X2" from 2003 (still one of the best superhero films to date), who also features prominently in the Marvel comic, television and videogame franchises. I have a nostalgic soft spot for 60 cent Marvel covers, and I love this atmospheric Sienkiewicz masterpiece! IMO, these DD stories between the first Miller DD run and "Born Again" are very underrated. Thanks, Mark! Social/Sharing |

Very cool. Love DD. Love Bullseye. Love Bill's art. It all came together here. My first comic was DD 200 and I have a real soft spot for this era of DD.
