DescriptionMarvel Feature (presents Red Sonja) v. 2 #1 was in that very first batch of borrowed issues I read (which included Uncanny X-Men #172 and a few others) which got me hooked on comic books back in 1983. As a result, I became a Red Sonja fan (2nd only to the X-Men for me in those early days) from the outset of my comic reading/collecting experience. In fact, when I stopped borrowing comics from friends and took the plunge into the hobby myself in late 1983, the first two comics I bought for myself off the newsstand at the local 7-11 were Uncanny X-Men #176 and Red Sonja v. 3 #3.As it turns out, I have been fortunate enough in my collecting career to acquire a number of the most nostalgic & meaningful pieces from my earliest days in comics (the covers to UXM #172 and #176, as well as to Red Sonja v. 3 #3). And, to those, I am very happy to add this lovely page 1 splash to Marvel Feature v. 2 #1 by Dick Giordano, who shows that he was a fine penciller as well as a superb inker. This one really brings me back to where it all began! I am also still actively searching for the original cover artwork to this issue by Gil Kane and John Romita - any information on its whereabouts would be greatly appreciated (finder's fee offered for any information that leads to a completed deal). Really nice page. Pretty sure most or all the background inks are by a young Terri Austin.

great title splash. I love the tall, still dark trees of the forest which accents the dynamic tension of Sonya holding on to the bucking stallion. Also nice seeing you tonight at the show.

Cool splash. Design and aesthetics are perfect on this one. Nothing not to like.

Gorgeous page - Giordano artwork is so beautiful and this is an exceptional example. I love his page layout with the boxes split between the story and the credits ... so cool. Makes me want to find the comic to see the rest of it.
