DescriptionHere's a cute piece I picked up this year. I'm assuming this was intended for publication or merchandising, but most likely unpublished. Let me know if I'm wrong and you've seen this used somewhere. Heritage had this listed as Bob Smith inks and circa 1986, but it's not signed or dated. We've got Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Firestorm, Cyborg and Starfire wrangling a giant bow. Flash also makes an appearance, but I have no idea what he's supposed to be doing. I know that Infantino's 80's work isn't everyone's favorite, but I get a kick of out it. Sorry the scan isn't the greatest -- I was lazy and basically used a cropped version of Heritage's photo for now. Social/Sharing |

Flash is pulling the tape to help the rest of them finish wrapping the gift! Pretty cool with them acknowledging the popularity of the New Teen Titans during the early 80's. One may think this was Super Powers toy line art if they had a Starfire figure in the line.

That makes perfect sense! Maybe this was meant for DC gift wrap paper packaging or something?

Starfire and the rest of the Titans were in the works and they showed up in the Cyborg Mini comic that only came out for one of the over seas version of the figure near the end of the line.

Any Infantino is great to see. There's probaby tons of Merch art that has not seen the light of day. Between Christmas wrapping paper and cards this could have been for anything.
