DescriptionI love covers like this one. Here, the King of Wakanda, the Black Panther, is caught in a heart-stopping dilemma, hanging helplessly from a cornice at the top of a building, while an unseen villain smashes at his handhold with a deadly double-bladed axe. The senses-shattering scene is dramatically delineated by another King--Jack Kirby. Kirby always knew how to wring all the drama possible out of scenes like this one. And that's the reason why the Black Panther had plenty of fans long before he ever had a record-breaking movie.Social/Sharing |

My god, you have a beautiful gallery... you have too many beautiful things but one can never have too many honestly. Said this once before, there aren't enough words to describe how wonderful this and everything else is and Kirby... he has a special place. Congrats on that place being here. :)

Another ultra-dynamic cover in your amazing collection! Like you said in your description, Kirby knew how to wring every last drop of drama out of a 'cliffhanger' scene like this one. Love how the Black Panther is inked in this image.

Another masterpiece by the greatest of all time. I love Kirby’s Panther covers. There’s so much energy and action on display. Some of his best stuff!

Yet another incredible piece, Bill. I always know where to come when I want to feel absolutely blown away by gorgeous comic art - your gallery! I really, REALLY love this piece... Unmistakably Kirby, but also unexpected / unorthodox Kirby. I love these showcase examples that display on the same page equal parts of his incredible composition skill along with his unmistakable bombast and straightforward explosive energy. Glorious King on King action here, Bill; superb and sensational! Congrats and thanks for sharing!
