Description

Another great DC cover, this one from 1970. Once again, Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson handled the penciling and inking chores. But this time they're portraying Superman's cousin, Supergirl. This is the last of the classic Supergirl issues edited by Mort Weisinger. And it's one of the last issues to depict Supergirl's original Silver-Age costume. In this issue, Supergirl has lost her memory and returned to the Orphanage where she was raised. Here, Swan demonstrates his skill at showing emotion, which you can see in the confusion on Supergirl's face. The cover is beautifully composed thanks to Swan. And Anderson's inks are crisp and clean. A terrific example of Swanderson teamwork.

A great Swanderson cover with both artists at the top of their game! A larger scan would be nice though....

This is a beautiful Supergirl cover. I do love the raw emotion on Supergirl's face.

Nothing represents Silver Age DC better than the covers of Curt Swan. This is a wonderful example of why the Superman family of titles were so dominant during the Weisinger era.

DC's imaginary stories just capture that era so well. I also like that you didn't have to follow canon and tell a concise story in a single issue.

Really beautiful cover by Swanderson, my favorite Superman Family team of all time, with a lovely drawn Kara. And everytime I look up your superb collection, my own shrinks a litte..:)
