15" x 10" image area. Ink and wash over graphite on Bristol board. Grimjack: Manx Cat #3 Story Page 54 Splash Original Art (IDW, 2010). Tim Truman signed and dated (01/07).

GrimJack's quest for the Manx Cat and its secrets has led him all over the fabled multi-dimensional city of Cynosure. On this beautifully rendered splash page, he's in a battle-to-the-finish with the beautiful Darlin' Lil.

This is a special piece to me because it was the very first piece of original comic art I ever purchased, getting into the hobby in October of 2017. I knew NOTHING about comic art at the time and was a just starting to collect art in general (mainly imaginative illustration), the same month I purchased this. The ink wash colors and drama of the imagery in this page, grabbed me by surprise, while I was watching an auction in which it was a part of. I shot from the hip and bought it on a whim. When I received it, it was the very first moment I had ever seen ANY original comic art in person. I was blown away at the detail. More importantly, the concept that despite the thousands and thousands of reproductions of this page in a mass-produced comic book publication, I owned the ONLY one original of this page! It was an unexpected, momentary diversion of my idea to only collect fantasy art - a moment I will never forget. It was this piece that started my love and obsession for original comic art.
