�� Rumiko Takahashi wins the Grand Prix at Angoul�me! She will preside over the 2020 festival and her originals will be displayed in a museum exhibit. The cartoonist came to SDCC in 1994 and received an Inkpot Award. Comics Beat sums up the work of Rumiko Takahashi available from the publisher VIZin this essay. This drawing is from the martial arts screwball comedy Ranma 1/2. The girl Akane Tendo and the boy Ranma Saotome are betrothed to each other by their fathers. Ranma and his father Soun are under a Chinese curse from falling into magic ponds. When hit with cold water, Ranma becomes a girl and Soun becomes a panda. Hot water will restore them. In this drawing, Akane and Ranma seem to be peeking around a corner. It also looks like Ranma is in his female form.
