I love Davis's Rawhide Kid work and this story specifically - what a great splash! He worked smaller than usual, right?

Yes, this is more like modern size, rather than the large art of the time. I love this story too. I remember being so surprised to read it as a kid, because I thought the art was Mad Magizine style :D

I own a page from this wonderful story & I know the whereabouts of two others, but I scarcely dreamed of seeing the splash! Thanks for posting and congratulations. I once had a Severin Two-Gun Kid page which was also done modern size. I imagine the EC guys took a look at the Atlas page rate and figured it was worth about half the drawing.

I bought this and another page (which I later sold) about 10-12 years ago. It has been a favorite of mine ever since. Jack Davis was masterful.

Brilliant page! Not a lot of Davis Marvel work out there.
