Description

This one checks a lot of boxes for me. I'm always on the lookout for great fantasy art, and Warhammer is near the top for nostalgic fantasy properties from my younger years. Not only is this Warhammer art, it's specifically from an old, obscure collectible card game called WarCry, which is set in the Warhammer fantasy universe. WarCry was one of my first hobbies that I felt truly immersed in. It's been a massive influence in my life and the entertainment I enjoy.

Last, and most importantly, this piece is painted by Adrian Smith. There are innumerable, accomplished fantasy artists, but for me Adrian Smith is the cream of the crop. His art is real, gritty, and evocative of the fantasies he depicts. He's not only one of the seminal Warhammer artists, but the artist for my favorite line of board games (Blood Rage, Rising Sun, and hopefully Ankh).

Man, this piece really has it all for me. It was an instant pick up when I saw it go up for sale. Huge thanks to Luke for letting this beautiful work go to a true fan.
