DescriptionJoined The Pogo Sunday club! Serendipity is the name of the game sometimes. I asked about buying a Pogo daily and thought I had it in the bag but then it turned out it was gone. Luckily the guy involved (Paolo) mentioned a friend of his had a Pogo Sunday for sale and it had the main characters in it. He sent me some pics and we made a deal. Thank you once again Paolo, if you read this.I have two Pogo strips to be sent over from the US, so can Pogo with joy. Walt Kelly's original artwork is really remarkable. Social/Sharing |

The Pogo club is a safer bet than the Go-Go bar ;)
Great one!

Great one!
I might see more jiggling in the Go-Go bar. Would have to do in depth comparisons to be certain.

Kelly's steady hand for the inking is superb! They convey an animation quality of story flow that we can pick up more easily when it is shown in the size of a Sunday.

Could an update be complete without a Marcus Wai comment? Clearly not. I hope the site pays you as a content provider?

Nah. I was offered to work doing something similar, but turned it down to continue having fun looking at and commenting for free without bias. I'm clearly deranged.

Any club that welcomes cat butlers is okay with me!

Did you ever locate the one published on your birthday? I am on the lookout for mine, 3rd August 1968. You reached a signifigant birthday in 2022.

This was destined to end up with you! The missing lynx...I am sure the feline clan at your home appreciates the nod!

BEAUTIFUL Pogo, Peter! Incredible art (and the "sound sleeper" gag really had me chuckling :) ). Beautiful line work on those great renditions of the characters! Congrats, Peter!

Great Pogo! I love the artwork of the 1960s Sundays and how the format really allows the character-driven humor to stretch out over several panels. I was lucky enough to find my birth date Pogo about 15 years ago.

I've always loved Walt Kelly's artwork, but I've always been left a little cold by the humor. Still, without a doubt, Kelly could wield a mean brush. Great example of his art.

The more political stuff dates rapidly but once you wrap your head around his approach to life and humor, its very funny. It was a different time. Tried reading any old pulps recently?

As a super late comer to Pogo, I bought a stack of vintage collections in the early 2000s.. when I heard that Pogo was the inspiration for Bone so I wanted to check it out. Loved it. Congrats on this most excellent pick up!
