DescriptionAn absolutely beautiful splash featuring Mystique, exactly as she's supposed to look! One of the coolest character designs in the Marvel Universe, I love staring at this piece as it helps me to heal from the horrific eye injuries I sustained when I laid eyes on the utterly unattractive and ridiculous looking "Naked Blue Lizard Woman" in the movies that they had the gall to call "Mystique". I do understand that certain costumes/looks won't translate well to live action, such as the abominable Green Goblin costume they spent $25 bucks on to mold a plastic Halloween mask for. But the movie people need to get a clue and realize that when the costume/look of the comics won't translate, just don't use that character. Better to use a different character than to stick with one whose look will not only be completely different from the comics, but also utterly embarrassing looking and can never be erased from film goers' memories. But I digress. Please enjoy the one and only, true Mystique! Social/Sharing |

What did naked blue lizard women ever do to you?

I'd agree, man, Mystique's one of the best and unique designs out there. Great juxtaposition of colors with her skin, hair, and the dark and white parts of the costume. And always loved the skull belt :) And she's rendered beautifully here by Grummett - what an entrance! She's almost regal. Quick aside - I really like the first Spider-Man film, and still do, but yeah...they could've figured out a better look for GG. Congrats on the piece!

Your description made me bust out laughing. Great stuff. And a BEAUTIFUL Mystique splash, no question about it. Grummett did total justice to this alluring & mysterious character.

Your venting of steam was amusing. Great artwork, but you know that. Most comic book costume and looks do when made into movies. I had to metaphorically rip out my eyes, when I saw what they did to Judge Dredd.
