DescriptionThis X-Men Forever series depicted what Chris Claremont intended to do with the X-Universe had he stayed on as writer of the Jim Lee illustrated series beyond issue #3.For those of us who hold Wolverine as one of our favourite (if not THE favourite) X-Man however, you'll be disappointed to know that the character doesn't survive for long, as Claremont killed him off almost immediately. How? You're seeing it right here, as he is betrayed by Storm and completely fried right down to his adamantium skeleton. The police actually find his skeleton outdoors at night, on the 2nd page of issue #2, a scan of which I've included in the additional images above. As the title states, this splash was published as page 10 in issue #3, but it was subsequently published as the cover to the 2nd printing of the 3rd issue. See my additional scans for all the published visuals. Social/Sharing |

Well, that's a hell of a way to go! At least it makes for a nice splash/cover!

Fried him right down to his adamantium skeleton...harsh, Storm! Wolverine is my favorite X-man, too. That cover is so charged with energy, it's fitting that Storm is letting loose with a blast of lightning. The image representing Prof X (psychically recoiling in horror?) really sets the emotion. I like everything about this page (except for Wolverine getting killed. That part suxors). Awesome page/cover! Congrats!

Such an awesome image. Wolvie getting the well-done treatment by Storm is a sight to behold. Congrats on snagging this one!

I hear that Wolverine was okay with getting killed off in this series so quickly since he regularly appears in a lot of other titles -- plus he negotiated a sizable salary bump for the sacrifice, so let's not worry too much about Ol' Canucklehead. But seriously, fantastic image, and it makes for a super dynamic cover!

I like the perspective and overall composition on this and how the depth is clear as you move left to right. And we forget how powerful Storm is sometimes don't we?! Focusing that power on one person? Not so good for said person, even when with a super healing factor! Another great Grummett add, Ruben - congrats!
