DescriptionIn this game of aeroball against Moscow’s Siberian Wolves, Giant has lost his jetpack (in the previous episode). Accepting his seemingly inevitable fate, of death by falling, he decides to go out with an score while holding onto an opponent. Slim comes to the rescue, giving Giant a mid-air piggy-back, and the Harlem Heroes go on to win the match 3-1.Gibbons uses all sorts of border styles and overlaps to keep the action so dynamic, with a jagged panel border for the score superimposed over the rescue scene. The hovering umpire’s capsule brings back so many memories, as it is an image I copied from the comic into my sketchbook. Social/Sharing |

Ha ha! Yes, another brutal game, but J K Rowling couldn't match the body count.

Slim & Giant ftw! This looks way more fun than a game of Madden. :) And that umpire's capsule looks so cool! I can see why you copied it for your sketchbook haha. Congrats on another great 2000AD page for your collection with very nice Gibbons art, thanks for sharing!

Ha ha. I don't know what sort of parental controls would be needed on a computer game of Aeroball! Thanks, Kavi!

Ha ha. Killer is right. The team must have been huge given how frequently players were killed or maimed.

Thanks Miki. Yes, Rollerball was a big influence as a basis for a brutal sport to include in 2000AD.
