Description

A race between Superman and the Flash seemed like a very important event, even the 2nd one in a year -- to an 8 year old in 1967. This issue of the Flash featured the second of the year's two races, the first being in Superman #199. The solid, stolid, DC house-style work of Andru & Esposito. Not the flashiest artists in the stable (see what I did there?), but they got the job done, and their work says "Silver Age" as much as anyone's.

It's a glorious reminder of the special excitement that these special crossovers and events had. It could happen any month without some large multipart epic surrounding it. It was a key issue for school kids who wanted bragging rights for their favorite hero.
