DescriptionWhen I signed up for Tula Lotay’s commission list, I was asked to give the artist a list of five options from which she would choose what she wanted to create. When she started posting pieces on Instagram a few months later as she worked her way through her commission list, I saw one based on a character who I had listed. It was a lovely piece, and I would have been very happy to hold it in my hands as part of my collection. However, when I saw this Black Cat piece a few weeks later, I hoped that this one would be the piece that would ultimately find its way to me. When the art package eventually arrived, I felt like a kid opening a present on Christmas morning not knowing what was going to be inside. I was beyond thrilled when I opened it to find this beauty.Social/Sharing |

I love the really loose pen lines. Very reminiscent of the work Terry Dodson did in the Songes books in Europe, very loose, spontaneous drawings and then straight to colors.

I walked along the hot pink hue
I never thought I'd meet cat girl like you
Black Cat girl like you
With platinum hair, black leather thighs
The kind of thighs that hypnotize me through
Hypnotize me through
If I can, I ask just for a babe
I’m a fan, A fan of lines and spray
I couldn't get Lotay

I am a little disappointed that Tula did not draw Black Cat with Mike Score's hairstyle.

It's Tula, she never disappoints. If it's like her other pieces, I'm sure the scan doesn't do the details she put into this any justice and it's probably even better in person.

Absolutely. As beautiful as the piece looks in the scan, there's nothing quite like seeing it in person.

I signed up for her commission list last month. Looking for to seeing what see does and who she pics off my list. This turned out really well, she is a master of that wispy charcoal. Just beautiful, congrats on such a great piece.

Alright, big win here, man! Don't know what it is about that orange backdrop vs the B&W figure that just flat out works. And Felicia? A sublime rendition, no doubt. Congrats!
