Description

Historic first ever sketch of Knull drawn by Ryan Stegman while on the phone with Donny Cates discussing plans for their now seminal run on Venom. Knull is one of Marvel's most exciting new characters. Having missed out on any published pages from Venom #3, I'm beyond excited to be able to add this truly historic and unique piece to my modern Marvel collection.

I purchased this sketch as part of the #Creators4Comics Twitter auction initiative benefiting comic stores during the COVID-19 crisis. I am both humbled to own this historic piece and thrilled to have contributed something to help important local small businesses during these tough times.

Concept pieces are cool, and this particular character in Knull really blew up, so doubly cool! Actually you got the trifecta as your dollars went to a good cause. Congrats all around, Rob!

Thanks! It's sort of funny - I didn't really intend for my collection to be a Donny Cates collection, but I love so many of his books that that's what my collection has pretty much become. I need to start building out my Thor: God of Thunder collection more to diversify some haha. Although that's basically Cates tangential with Knull technically first appearing there. I swear I read Aaron's Thor run and loved it before I read Cates' Venom!

I LOVE it! Congrats on the great pick-up! You'd be amazed at how much of collection has become Donny Cates as well. I never got into Grading until October 2020 and I took a break at ASM #802 until August 2020. I decided to break out of my habit of only collecting ASM in my pullbox, and man am I glad I did! I've got 9 series currently in rotation on top of now collecting Omnibuses, Signed & Graded Slabs, and Original Artwork!

It amazes me how much of my Slab collection is Donny Cates work! Venom, Thanos, Silver Surfer Black, his current Hulk Series, and now lately VANISH! I'm glad I stumbled upon your Gallery!
