DescriptionCover dated May 1994.I had wanted a page from Knightquest, and I thought this one was a pretty good representation of the story. There’s no action on this page, but the tension between Alfred and Jean-Paul Valley is palpable, as Alfred makes clear with his words and a look that he doesn’t think much of Jean-Paul in the role of the Caped Crusader. Eduardo Barreto pencilled and inked this page. He was always a solid storyteller, and if you removed the word balloons from this page, you’d still know everything you needed to know just from the artwork. Social/Sharing |

Alfred ain't happy because he has to clean those tall windows this week. Bat guano and bats flying into them all the time make it a tough job. Barreto was a mainstay in DC and this was right in his wheelhouse. Tight lines and dramatic lighting throughout serve the central theme of the story arc of JPV's quest to earn the mantle.

I love Eduardo's deep inking on this book. I have two pages myself 😁 It's cool to see Jean-Paul without his cowl. Congrats.

Thanks! Your pages are pretty awesome. That last panel on page 22 is one of the best shots of the Azrael Batman that I've seen.
