DescriptionLatest Golden Age Team-Up Project commission - The Brave & The Bold issue #243, teaming Batman with Wonder Woman, adapted from Gary Frank's cover to X-Men Classic #106, as reimagined by Bambos Georgiou.1949 - and following the events of last issue, Batman is on the trail of Air Wave's former foe, the robotically-bodied Professor Gurn, one of the cabal of villains who had rebuilt Mr Atom. Cornering the evildoer in his laboratory lair, Batman is able to hurl his new, titanium-edged, batarang in an arc which carves through the Professor's metal legs below the knee, incapacitating the villain for long enough for the Gotham police to cart him off to jail. With Gurn in custody, Batman turns his attention to locating the fourth member - and leader - of the gang, Colonel Future! Meanwhile, a team from the Army Corps Of Engineers arrives at nearby Mammoth Caves, where Mr Atom had been entombed and presumed destroyed by the Blackhawks in the last issue - and they're accompanied, at the request of the Government, by Wonder Woman, who watches on as the soldiers begin to dig into the rocks, aiming to uncover the giant robot and see whether any useful technology can be recovered. The Amazing Amazon's strength is called into play to help the efforts, shifting enormous rocks that are beyond the capacity of the engineer's machinery - but her attention is caught by a glimpse of a colorfully-clad figure skulking nearby... ... as Colonel Future, now in command of Doctor Darrk's robot, Giganto, arrives on the scene! Future directs Giganto to attack Wonder Woman while he uses a gadget to broadcast a radio signal at the fallen rocks blocking the entrance to Mammoth Caves - only to find himself under attack by Batman, who leaps from the Batmobile to tackle the villain! As the two battle, Wonder Woman is engaged in her own confrontation with Giganto, but her power is easily the equal to that of the robot, and she is able to use heavy chains from the engineering operation to restrain it. Batman, meanwhile, defeats Colonel Future --- but as he uses a bat-rope to tie the vilain's hands, a rumbling from the rockfall at Mammoth Caves gets louder and louder, and .... ... the giant Mr Atom, directed by the radio broadcast from Colonel Future, bursts through the fallen rocks, and confronts the two heroes! Immediately, Batman and Wonder Woman charge into action, with the Amazon attempting to topple the robotic menace - but Mr Atom's atomically-powered might is too great, and he tries to squash Wonder Woman under his foot! As she braces herself against the robot's weight, Batman clambers up the robot's back, and uses his titanium-edged batarang to slash at the neck-joint, hoping to sever critical wiring or hydraulic tubes within, but to no avail! Wonder Woman is able to free herself from beneath Mr Atom's foot and, retreating to a safe distance, strings her magic lasso between two trees, backs herself up --- and launches herself into the air using her lasso like a giant catapault, sending her super-strong form crashing completely through Mr Atom's chest! Batman leaps clear as the robot falls, and the two heroes allow themselves a moment of satisfaction - one which is quickly ended as Mr Atom returns to his feet, the hole in his chest repairing itself, and kicks out at Wonder Woman, hurling her into the solid rock face of Mammoth Caves, and knocking her out! With the Amazon unconscious, Mr Atom turns his attention back to Batman, who is at a significant disadvantage agains the giant robot. Can he survive - and if so, which hero can help him defeat the robotic menace? Find out - next issue! Social/Sharing |

That's a great cover choice which has flown under my radar and I like the choice of co-star

I have to say I hadn't spotted it until recently (well, last year) - some of the reprint material has covers which are just ripe for adapting!

Awesome! It looks like how Wonder Woman would have been drawn by Bolland! Neat subs for Wolvie and the Sentinel.
