Elongated Man, the Question, Detective Chimp & Doctor Fate!

A gorgeous homage to 50s movie posters. Jones drew every single cover for this series, and every single one is unique and brilliant.

One of my favorite covers from the Weekly year-long event Comic that immediately followed Infinite Crisis. This book was so big, it brought onboard a 4 writer team made up of some of the best: Grant Morrison of Invisibles, Doom Patrol and Batman fame, Keith Giffen of Legion of Superheroes, Omega Men, and Lobo, Mark Waid of Kingdom Come and a brilliant run on the Flash, and lastly Geoff Johns, who sort of steered the creative flow of DC for literal years.

I�m so happy to have this piece in my collection. I�m a huge fan of Jones� style and ability to tell a whole story in one image. Looking at a piece like this is like taking a masterclass in silent film.

It really was amazing that he did all those covers for 52 and was abe to creat them in different styles. This film noir style cover is made all the more impressive that you can accept Detective Chimp as the hard boiled gumshoe star without a second thought.

I think the reason I collected this series was because Of JG jones and all the wonderful covers he did. this is an example.
