DescriptionFrom one big and burly cat last week to another :) A killer full figure straight standing shot of a brawny Black Panther here courtesy o’ Nic Klein. Y’all knew I’d be getting back to some BP posting at some point, right?!Recent pick up from a Felix drop. As per usual with Nic, some outstanding grey tone work. I always like how artists can uniquely render BP’s “simpler” costume. Speaking of costume, I also liked here how on the left hand/claw you got the original old school glove lines, while on the right, the markings Stelfreeze created for his run indicating a kinetic charge to the suit. And, just a hefty T’Challa here! Don’t mess with this dude. This piece was used for the 2023 Stormbreakers promo book cover (among other artist character renditions), front and back, and in some other spots promoting the 2023 class of up and coming Marvel artists. Definitely glad to own, and when I let Nic know, I got a nice response, with him also noting his mutual affinity for BP: “Black Panther is a character that I haven’t drawn often but I really enjoy working on any art that he’s on. Such a cool character!! I love the sleek elegance and strength that he has.” Agreed, Nic, and thanks! Social/Sharing |

Love this pic! So often you see BP with a more slender frame, really like seeing him a little bulkier here - great piece man. In the ideal collection for sure.

It's a truly sharp image of the character. Nic Klein is an outstanding artist, and this is on full display here. Some lovely detail that makes this design stand out. Great eye as always KG!

It's funny, Chris, I was thinking he had a legit bodybuilder look here, then thought about the late Serge Nubret. He was a famous French bodybuilder competing in Arnie's day, and I remembered him from the flick "Pumping Iron". Looked him up and did a DOUBLE take when I saw his nickname:

K When I think of the BP you always come to mind. I think I told you BP was one of my faves as a kid. This one is majestic in its interpretation of a highly esteemed character. This is bold and statuesque. Congratulations.

Statuesque...hadn't thought of that one, but spot on word, Michael! I can see this ACTUALLY being a statue, maybe standing next to a panther statue or totem in Wakanda, kinda like the MJ jumpman statue in front of the United Center in Chicago :) Glad you like it, man, especially as a fellow T'Challa aficianodo!

Nic Klein is real favorite of mine, too. I really appreciate the amount of energy he puts into every piece. The ink washes he does for every page take an enormous amount of work, but Nic always seems to give 110% to every page. I love the Black Panther he drew here, he just exudes power and strength. Congrats on a great pick-up!
