UTOPIA-Novel #1 (Original Cover Art) 1953
Unknown artist - There is no clear documentation of the cover artist for the first 43 novels, however, from a style perspective, the cover artist could be Rolf Wansart (1919-1996). Most early UTOPIA covers afterwards were created by Johnny Bruck and Karl Stephan.

�Strafkolonie Mond� (Detention Colony Moon) was the first episode of the UTOPIA series. 'Utopia Zukunftsroman' was the first German Science-Fiction pulp series and was published from 1953 to 1968 in 596 episodes by the publishing company Erich Pabel in Rastatt. It was one of the most popular SF series in Germany in 1950-70 next to TERRA and PERRY RHODAN.

Original cover artworks from the first UTOPIA episodes from 1953 are extremely rare finds.

Pen and Gouache on drawing paper with wood backing. Professionally framed for exhibitions in light oak frame and UV protection museum glass.

As always I have only the UTOPIA magazine. You're lucky to have this iconic treasure of German SciFi history, Markus! It's interesting how the artist incorporated the logo, title and even number in the cover. But the "Jim Parkes Abenteuer im Weltraum" subtitle was painted over. A truly outstanding piece.

Die etwas restaurierte Originalzeichnung des ersten SF-Heftes aus dem Nachkriegsdeutschland, veröffentlicht im Jahr 1953. Es gibt keinen größeren Klassiker aus diesem Bereich.

Bei Markus ist es in den besten Händen.
