Description

When it's dinner time the cats know! Don't get in Garfield's way. His facial expressions in panels 2 & 3 are just priceless.

Jim Davis, Garfield Daily Comic Strip dated 2-14-81 (United Feature Syndicate, 1981). An early Garfield!

Created in ink and Zipatone over blue pencil on a Bristol board with an image area of 14" x 4". The strip has toned slightly, and the Zipatone has discolored; otherwise in Excellent condition.

Davis perfectly captures the universal truth of cat ownership: when it’s dinner time, nothing stands in their way! Garfield’s expressions in panels 2 and 3 are priceless, showcasing his signature mix of impatience and entitlement. A great daily that proves Garfield’s comedic charm was already in top form!
