DescriptionIIRC, I became aware of Filipino artist Manix Abrera from his art sale on Comic Art Live in March 2023: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q86DqSXmbhkAbrera's cartoony, whimsical-yet-detailed style immediately struck a chord with me - I would liken it to '80s/90s era Marvel artist Fred Hembeck on steroids. 😂 Anyway, I was tempted to get an Iron Man piece from the live sale, but, ultimately decided to wait until I found a piece with the right composition and character combination (not being that big of an Iron Man fan - sorry, Daren!) When I saw this dynamic Hulk vs. Wolverine piece 7 months later - all killer and no filler - with an unconventional 12" round shape and image exploding in color against a black background, I knew immediately that this was *the* Manix example I wanted for my collection! Marvelous Hulk vs Wolverine painting by Manix Abrera! Quirky, zany and oddball are all words that come to mind. Also, cool. Great pick-up!
