DescriptionElektra: Assassin, full size (11" x 17") mixed media with colors commission by Jim Mahfood, aka Food One.It's been a rough few weeks on my end of being very sick at times and having almost no energy, but I'm finally climbing out of my "virus bubble" and have the energy/time this evening to put together a proper full length CAF post for my latest commission pick up from Jim Mahfood, which I'm absolutely thrilled with - Elektra Assassin! Incase you missed it last night, Bill hosted an amazing interview with artist/writer Jim Mahfood (aka Food One)on the Comic Art Live YouTube channel, where this piece was shown as one of the art selections that Jim chose to share with the audience. It was awesome to hear him talk further about the piece and about his career in general. A fantastic interview, so go check it out HERE if you missed it. Anyway, I think this piece speaks for itself as a unique and distinct take on Elektra and her universe all in one, in another home run piece from Jim, at least for me. Super happy to have this in the collection. Once I was able to jump on his list through Cam at Inky Knuckles, the entire process was super smooth and only took a few months total (maybe 3 or so). Communication was great the entire time, great customer service @ Inky Knuckles!! Jim continues to be one of my personal favorites and I was beyond satisfied with the result here. Jim was also kind enough to throw in an extra untitled bookmark size bonus sketch piece which I will give it's own upload to later or in the next few days, super cool of him! UPDATE: I uploaded the bonus piece to CAF, you can check it out HERE For the song choice I'm going to pair this piece up which is already one of my personal favorites with a song from the band Head Automatica which is also one of my personal favorites. First of all, let me just say it's good to see you uploading pieces to your gallery again, brother! I really enjoyed the Chat with Mahfood last night. This is a fabulous looking Elektra piece. It's a different take, with almost a late teens, early twenties schoolgirl vibe. But not to be outdone, the imagery at the top might even be my favourite part of the entire piece. I'd like to say it sings, but you might think I'm just making a pun. Too late, said it!

haha thanks Ruben, good to "be back". And I agree, i love the Elektra but the dreamscape "panel" imagery above her consuming her mind is the standout - such a cool approach

Easy, ready, willing, over time
She does not stop, where do you dare Jim to draw her lines?
He draws the body, now he gives her soul
Took only months to draw it, three or so
Yeah Sai, I'll pay anything that you want me to
Yeah, I'll do almost ninja things that you want me to
Yeah, but video for that
Go (go), Go Mahfood
I can go for that
Go (go), Jim Mahfood
I got show for that
Go (go), Food One dude
I watch show for that, watch show for that
Can wait for that, can go for that
Jim's art goes for being twice as nice
He won't go for just repeating the same old lines

This piece is incredible. I can't get over the detailed and zipatoned top part of the commission, and that's not even addressing the sexy, funky character design of Elektra. One of Mahfood's best pieces that I have seen. Huge congrats Kavi!

Cool piece and I was not familiar with Jim's art until the CAF show this week. I dig his style and will have to do some more searches on CAF.

Amazing piece by Mahfood. I'll have to check out the interview to learn more. He always elevates his commissions from just a "pin up" to a fully realized illustration experience. Congrats!
