DescriptionIs this a nearly-perfect STAR WARS page, or what?Of course, this page hails from one of the more notorious STAR WARS issues to ever be published by MARVEL. Issues 53 & 54 included an unused Carmine Infantio JOHN CARTER OF MARS storyline, retrofitted by writer Chris Claremont into a Princess Leia -centric storyline, and filled out by new content created by Walt Simonson. To my eye, the difference between the Infantino pages and the Simonson pages, while debated elsewhere, is pretty easy to parse. Determining the inkers is another matter. This particular example is SUPPOSEDLY identified as an Infantino page. Rubbish. Carmine NEVER drew like that, this is a Walt Simonson page through and through, I'll stake my reputation on it. (Quiet, you in the peanut gallery!) The inker, though, is hard to guess. This doesn't look as fluid as a Palmer to me, though it still could be. I personally lean a little more to guessing it's Al Milgrom, though he disputes it. >shrug< Anyone else want to guess? Social/Sharing |

Pretty cool to tie it in to the ESB era of adventures with Lando taking the place of Han before ROTJ. Millenium Falcon and the Star Destoryer are just as much main characters as the cast.

Simonson did all of the pure Star Wars fill-in transition pages, so no argument there. I also think Milgrom inked most of those, while Palmer focused more on the effort of all the cutting/pasting/Frankensteining of the original Infantino pages to add the revised Star Wars elements. So i too would have guessed Milgrom.
