Description

Posting this artwork to commemorate the New YorK Mets re-signing of first baseman Pete Alonso. This 8-page comic book was given away at the Mets game on August 12, 2021 (with a matching bobblehead given away the next day). I was able to purchase the original ink art to the entire book including the cover (which you can see in this same gallery). This is the blueline ink art by Wayne Faucher based on the pencil artwork of Scot Eaton.

Page 5 (the final story page) features Pete defeating the ice monster and then waking from his dream. Let me know if you can identify the players in panel 5. One of them looks a lot like Starling Marte, but he didn't join the team until later. It's possible that's supposed to be Robinson Cano as this appears to have been drawn in 2020 before his suspension. Alternatively it could be Amed Rosario. The other player could potentially be Brandon Nimmo or any number of other people. Several of the faces were redrawn on a different board and replaced for publication. You can see the art updates marked with a 5 (for page 5) on the additional scan.

I immediately thought that was Amed Rosario. Think it is him in that panel. "Let's Go Mets!"
