I had lost out on this cover many, many years ago.

When "Unexpected 123" was offered to me, I knew exactly which cover it was.

I think this is one of Nick's nicer covers for DC's horror/mystery line. Mainly because most covers don't feature close-ups.

I love that Nick never dialed it in. The attention to detail on the blanket w its designs and folds is a testiment to his profesionalism. From the hands, to the skeleton, pillow and scared fella, he nailed it on all fronts.

So sleeping totally hidden under the blanket doesn't help against walking skeletons... :) Great horror cover!

Now that's really an "unexpeced" superb CAF entry ! Cardy's hundreds of covers on various 1960s+70s superhero titles were among the best at DC (along with Adams') and the horror stuff no less ! Huge congrats on this eerie piece !
