DescriptionI was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time and managed to get into a 4-way deal that landed me one of my very favorite Vampirella pieces - the Vampirella #39 frontispiece by Jose Gonzalez. The piece was also used as the frontispiece of issue #100 and as the back cover of the 1976 Vampirella paperback novel "Blood Wedding" published by Warner Books. It's definitely the best known of his 28 published pencil frontispieces and one of the definitive images of Vampirella - it's my absolute favorite behind only the famous poster image that was also used as the #19 cover.Social/Sharing |

Amazing piece by Jose Gonzalez......crazy how those trades go.....(this is beautiful, and Rima # 1 by Nestor Redondo is surreal.)

Gene, you definitely own the best Gonzalez work in private hands. These frontispieces (especially this one) are the best Jose has ever done to capture the very essence of what Vampirella should be...sexy, mysterious, alluring....the adjectives go on. With your frontispieces and our covers, we should open a museum!
