An incredible page. The best Romita interior artwork ever. Amazing that it is outside the Romitaman collection.

I remember reading this issue when I was very young (it was in some reprint compilation) and saying the words "you just hit the jackpot" over and over again. Not quite understanding exactly what they meant, and yet having them resonate as if from the lips of a beautiful girl. That was the true magic in the Marvel books from that era, they just stayed with you, the dialogue was real, the characters were so alive and so believeable. Congratulations on acquiring one of the most memorable and historic pages from the entire ASM run!

That last panel is pure comic art gold. Really, every serious spider-man fanboy knows that exact moment and can recite that line. It's a great privilege to be able to hold that in your hands! Enjoy it.

I've always loved this page -- always as in "since I was seven years old," meaning before there was anyone else to talk with about it. And now, 2012, a couple new things dawn on me. First: Stan could write dialogue, all right. Second: he and Romita had a thing going on. But this is what I hadn't thought of at all until now: Romita was still doing Ditko here. Look at that center panel, and look at Pete and the background of the second to last panel -- those faces are him aping Ditko. MJ's appearance, however, is the moment Romita starts making the book his own. Great as he is, Ditko could NOT draw women like that. Enter MJ, enter a whole new way of storytelling. We all want a woman to walk in and tell us that.

The Mona Lisa of comics - but far, far cuter. JR SR at his height, this has to be THE page to own of his entire run.
Amazing. Surpasses any piece of Pop Art by far. The real deal, and a bringer of joy to my eyeballs.
