DescriptionI'm pretty sure the characters never met during the Golden Age. But what if they did?? Could GA really impress BC with his great Arrow Car?? BC doesn't seem to be taking the bait. She's used to attention from blond guys in green. Yes, I'm talkin' 'bout you Johnny Thunder!!! Mark Heike was one of the artists in the AC Comics stable that almost singlehandedly dragged good girl art (or GGA as they say) kicking and screaming (of course) into the 1990's. This was before DC and Marvel really started taking advantage (double entendre alert) of their heroines. You can contact Mark and Stephanie Heike at http://www.markandstephanieheike.com. It seems there was such a thing as an Arrow Car. Black Canary was created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino. Green Arrow was created by Mort Weisinger and George Papp. Social/Sharing |

A beautiful piece! Along with the other Arrow / Canary this has got to be the best stuff I've seen Mark do. Congrats :)

This piece is basically what I described to Mark. He sent me the prelims for both. And I liked the racing piece so much that I really thought Mark should complete both. The Arrow Car takes up a lot of space. On paper and just as this hunk of metal. It doesn't have intricate details that artists can go to town on. I always thought that would be the main challenge of the commission. And Mark handled it great in both pieces.
