DescriptionI have been a George Perez fan ever since I can remember. To me Perez is synonymous with comic art. The man is a legend, and with good reason. He is the best. THE BEST!! I normally do not post pieces before I have them in hand, but I just am too excited NOT to post this. Many thanks to Spencer Beck for making this happen, and to George for his vision.Social/Sharing |

Okay I have loved so many of the commissions in your collection but this is definately my favorite, I don't think it could be beaten. Congratulations on firstly getting on George's list, he has certainly delivered the goods and then some. Everything about this is brilliant, the stunning and detailed backs and Batman is a good as any I have ever seen; it's a grail commission for sure.

The evening background and city lights make this piece pop, George has one of the best layout/background skillsets of any of the modern artists and this is a superb example.

Forget commissions, this may very well be one of Mr. Perez's very best single-image visuals of all time. The intricacy of the Gotham skyline and the bold, imposing depiction of Batman against it are just unbelievable.

A masterpiece. Amazing to think of the time and effort that went into it. Maybe someone with good taste at DC will see it and ask to use it as the cover for something important.

That looks amazing. The toughest thing about a Perez commission though is what to get. Only because you want him to draw all of your favorite characters and this was a fantastic choice.

Like a sunset, I can't describe with enough words how great it is. I'm having that problem now. Like Gal said, I honestly don't know how you could top this but I'm sure you will pick up something again that amazes me as well. But for now I'm very, very happy to stare at this till you do. Congrats, it is amazing.

This is reat. My first exposure to Perez was his Batman Year 3 covers, which remain to this day some of my favorite cover art. I love his handling of Batman over Gotham and this is no exacption. Only we get to see more Batman than with the year 3 covers.

This is neat. My first exposure to Perez was his Batman Year 3 covers, which remain to this day some of my favorite cover art so this is a delight for me. I love his handling of Batman over Gotham and this is no execption. Great contrast between the Batman figure and the trademark detail Perez uses to bring the enviorment to life.

This is, without a doubt, the corner stone of your collection. As a fan of Mr. Perez's work for over 25 years I have to say this is probably the best Batman illo. he has ever produced. No one deserved a Perez Batman piece of this outstanding quality more than you. Keep 'em coming Ari!

Aesthetic : Countless hours must have been spent on that page by master Perez both drawing and inking. The full figure Batman is perfect and the work on the light is tremendous but it's the details that give that piece so much impact : beautifully textured clouds, bat shadow on the moon and of course the insanelly detailed buildings in the background. If it was a cover, it would be one of the best Batman covers ever. Originality : only a few Perez pieces come to my mind with a similar buildings effect but none are so well detailed. The light on Batman is also perfect, common for an Alex Ross but unique for Peez. Historic value : As it's not published, that piece should not have any historic value, but it's simply one of Perez best drawings ever; to me and to all who have seen it as the incredible number of comments on that piece shows. RATING : 9/10.

Cover quality? I don't think so ... this is better than a TON of covers I have seen. From George's vision to the amazingly intricate detailing, this is a different category. I think grail is appropriate. Great cornerstone piece Aric!

Simply stunning. George will always be my favourite artist and this piece is a perfect example of why. The detail on the buildings reminds me of the Batman portfolio George did way back. Honestly, I cannot understand why anyone would have a favourite artist other than George!
