DescriptionThis was an impulse buy given the low price of entrance and am I so glad I did Kerry Gammill’s art is becoming rarer and rarer these days like many of those too rare artists, I tend to love their work and specialize in them as it frustrates me that their input is so thin. A Superman for earth page which features a quiet moment between Clark and his father and mom. I have always been a fan of those quiet moments as they build the personality of the characters and make us care for them in the long run. For Earth was a very good Superman GN written by the ever impeccable Roger Stern and showing a strong social and ecological conscience. If a bit on the nose considering it was released in 91 I read it recently for the first time and it is sadly still very actual. I found very daring for instance that Lois & Clark agree on the fact that the way the world is going, it would not very conscious to bring a child in it. Now about the art. This page is fantastic in terms of storytelling for me. All the little mannerisms Kerry attributed to the characters like the way Clark put his glasses on stepping into the car, the way their eyes move during the conversation, how their heads tilt, the show of their hands. These characters are having a true conversation on this page and it’s not easy to make it look interesting. The acting of each characters attributed by the expert pencil of Gammill makes for great storytelling. Let’s not tforget the very suitable inks of Dennis Janke. Social/Sharing |
