Description

A complete nostalgia pick-up for me. From Chapter 6 of the Avengers/Defenders War. The issues were: Avengers #115, Defenders #8, Avengers #116, Defenders #9 (Chapters 4-6), Avengers #117, Defenders #10, Avengers #118, and Defenders #11. This page has it all for me. Doctor Strange "throwing" a spell, his foes' (Mantis and Black Panther) dialog "We were no more than ants to him! When he felt like it, he just stepped on us!, Doctor Strange carrying away one of the six shards of the Evil Eye, and finally the great "coming attractions" box listing the upcoming issues and face-offs!

One of the greatest tales ever told (but definitely the Defenders/Avengers way around for that war, given the members of the non-Team won every round). The middle panel is a delight, and so unusual for the words of Strange's spell to be lettered as though a song. Great page!
