DescriptionStuart Immonen (with Wade) may be (one of?) the best modern storyteller(s)s in the industry (worldwide?) nowadays and there is no discussion possible that his Cap & X-Men work represented YET another plateau he reached to establish his crown. The first panel with FalCap’ pursuing Baron Blood in flight is the obvious main attraction of the page. The second panel offers a nice perspective of the pursuit from down under. And of course the last 3 panels which materialize what we all thought of when the concept of FalCap’ was announced, throwing the shield mid-flight :) Take that, Baron Blood! Again, Stuart uses the zoom-in device in panels 3 to 5 to great effect. The variety of the shots and angles used on this page makes for a nice flow (and sense of speed) and keep the eye of the reader interested throughout. I will conclude by mentioning how great it is to have such stellar artists draw intricate backgrounds on their page, even ones which are action pages and on which the action flows super quickly. In this day and age of monthly comics and production where many artist shy away from it (Hi Mr Coipel!), this is a proof of great artistry and self-devotion to one’s art. Social/Sharing |

Ha ha, love seeing Cap's shield used in different ways via panel storytelling! That HAD to hurt, Baron :) Congrats!

Cracklingly awesome page! Yeah - that's a shield deflection worthy of old Steve Rogers himself, without question... I am in 100% agreement with... well, MANY of your statements, but especially about the beautiful architecture you point out here; I love seeing an artist tell a driving, exciting sequentially narrated story, filled with impossible acts of heroism and unlikely physics (and physical beings), but when an artist puts up some gorgeous architecture - something REAL - to ground or set the story, I'm far more often... drawn to that? (inserts Dr. Evil pinkie in corner of mouth)
Thankfully, Mssrs. Immonen and von Grawbadger provide heaping helpings of ALL of the above. :) Beautiful pick up. Congrats!
