Beyond the sheer awesomeness of the piece I'm very fond of how the Beast is reading an issue of The Avengers that seems to have ONE GUY on it, sort of a single lumpy childish figure. As if Perez would ever put just one guy on the cover of a comic book.

It's about time you added some quality art to your collection! ;) Seriously, this calendar had some of the Best 80's Comic Art around- Perez' Avengers, Byrne's X-men, Miller's Daredevil, Golden's Killer Hulk piece, JRJR's Spidey, Layton's Iron Man, Los Hermanos Buscema's Silver Surfer!!!

Another terrific plate from the legendary 1981 Marvel Calendar. Enhancing the marvelous detail of this amazing plate are the spectacular inks of the late great Gene Day, whose work complemented Perez's so well, and who, at that time, may have been Perez's best inker. While Perez/Day did not work together enough to leave a legacy of work as voluminous as that some other highly regarded tandems of the time (e.g.: Byrne/Austin and Miller/Janson), what they did produce, like this Calendar, was simply breathtaking to behold. Congratulations on a magnificent acquisition in the Mighty Marvel Manner!

Pages packed with Perez greatness...he gets the dramatic over - sized crowd scenes and then adds delicious details like the Wasp giving Jarvis a helping hand...Wonderful..Thanks for sharing....
