DescriptionCharles P. Wilson III is the superstar artist of "The Stuff of Legend" from Th3rd World Publishing. If you have not seen this series or heard of it, do yourself a favor and pick up the first two issues. It contains a wonderful story. Even more important to me it contains some of the most gorgeous and ornate artwork I have seen in a modern comic book.This piece is rendered entirely in pencil. It is amazing to me that an artist can give such depth and variation in shading using just a pencil. There are portions of this piece that you would swear were inked, but they are not. For fans of the series we have the main villain of the book: The Boogeyman and his Trophy Room. The image was nice enough that the publisher decided to use it as the cover to the limited edition "Boogeyman Edition" (in the additional pics below) Including (as described to me by the artist himself: Max's ribbon, skull Minion's Crown Harmony's head Jester's head piece, mask and hatchets Quacker's head Percy's pants Princess' knife Colonel's helmet, rifle Mayor's Hat, chair (the setting is actually in one of the rooms in the Mayor's castle) Hopscotch sign And there are a few other things that come from Boogeyman's soldiers (roman sword, indian arrow, skulls). I like this book a lot. It's got real breakthrough potential. There is no doubt, though, that Wilson is going places. Nice eye for emerging talent you got there;)

Now you are just showing off, Charles P. Wilson III, c'mon man, give the rest of us a chance; the Stuff of Legends is a terrific book and this piece is out of this world. I'm gonna abandon the commission game if you keep getting pieces like this.
