DescriptionThis is a dream come true for me. I asked John Byrne to draw a crowd scene of his choice of characters from the Avengers starting with issue 1 and going through his run on the title. The only specific request I had was that the Space Phantom be near the front. JB decided to start with the early characters in the front of the illo and progressively add characters from later issues going backwards. The end result surpassed anything I could have imagined. This one has to be seen in person to truly appreciate it; the original is 20" x 30".Social/Sharing |

I've actually seen this in person and you have _no_ idea how amazing it is. No idea. Congrats, Jim, on an amazing piece of work!

Good Lord this is ridiculous. This is a life's work. This is the best Avengers piece of all time. As classic as the FF poster. Wow.I predict 2000 views and 25 comments by Friday.

Oh that's great! Years from now, Jim's grandkids will take this to the Antiques Roadshow, and boy when they give the estimate for this.. jaws will hit the floor around the US!!

Very nice. I normally see pieces like this just with the good guys. I like the interplay.

I think it's safe to call this the definitive Byrne Avengers drawing.

Congratulations, Jim. One of the amazing parts to his piece is JB planning this out.

How are you even able to leave your house-?!? If I owned this, I'd call in sick and just stare at this all day long. It's not so much a commission as it is a gloriously cool "time machine" and I think only Byrne could've pulled it off so well. This just can't be beat! Congratulations!

You could spend all day on this thing. Finding the Hank Pyms alone would take until lunch...

I'd be happy with just one character from Byrne. Any chance of cutting one out? Lol. Such a great piece, Congrats!

This should be published as a poster! I love all the different iterations of Iron Man (it's always great to see Ditko's redesign of ol' Shell Head) and all the little character details like the Mole Man and his minions tunneling into view at the bottom right. Absolutely stunning!

I totally agree! This magnificent piece is framed up in the foyer of our home so I see it every day; it always brings a smile to my face and it remains one of my all-time favorite JB pieces!
