Description

Classic art team on there 2nd run which I now appreciate so so much. My wheelhouse being a cosmic tale. Add in Hercules, Fire Lord and Eros (3 favorites) plus the rest of the team, sprinkle that it is an issue I don't have a page from yet and viola I had to have it join my collection. Thanks HA!

John Buscema and Tom Palmer Avengers #261 Story Page 6 Original Art (Marvel, 1985). Nice half-splash page featuring the Avengers and Firelord cruising through sub-space in the Secret Wars II crossover issue. Hercules, Wasp, Black Knight, Captain Marvel (Monica Rambeau), Captain America, and Starfox discuss their next move on this page with Buscema breakdowns and Palmer finishes. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Slight toning, production trimming of the corners and top edge, taped page number paste-up at the bottom, and light handling wear. In Very Good condition.

Loved this story and loved this team! Really like Palmer's inks complimenting Buscema's pencils.

It's less refined, but has a more deeper effect that operates on the belief that these are heroes in an age that is more mature. The images on this page are very representative of the age and show how society celebrated the brawn of their heroes.
