Which limb(s) did you have to give up for this one? I kid, of course, as it was probably your first-born. Congrats!!

Superb image of Spidey by Ditko. I am really looking forward to the day when you open up a comic art museum, I would pay top dollar entry to view the jewels in your collection.

Seen a few Kirby Pinups from this era over the years but never a Ditko let alone a Spidey Ditko! Awesome piece. Must look killer in person.

Seeing this should remind all of us why comics and comic art bring such tremendous joy. An American masterwork.

David, COME ON!!!! You are killing me. Perfect piece of art, and Large Art Sizes to boot!! This has to look AMAZING in hand. I would use the words iconic and priceless but then you'd probably think I was trying to get you to auction off this piece.

I'm not into Ditko or Spider-Man and even I had to say "Oh my god"! Really, really nice.

For a comic geek, this is kind of like the ultimate "comfort food" for the soul. I look at this, and I smile. It's light and whimsical ("Hi, Pal!) and it is just a joy to look at. It's the kind of pinup, in a bygone era, you'd cut out of a 12-cent comic book with scissors and tape to your closet door (as long as it didn't affect the story) next to the picture of your favorite quarterback you clipped out of your dad's newspaper.

The worst thing about this is knowing my hate only makes you stronger.

I think I speak for all plebeians in remarking that this is a cultural treasure that doesn't belong to all, but to one American. O-oh say can you see...

I'm stunned, David. I thought that if it were to go so far as to trade you my entire art collection for this one piece alone? Insane? I think not.

That right there is what you call a pretty decent piece of comicbook art!

From a time when Spider-man was truly amazing! In my avatar, that's me back in the 60s, reading a copy of ASM #39 - and wondering what happened to the good artist who drew all the earlier issues . . .

Had to comment again...starting a letter writing campaign to get this piece away from Mandel...it should be in a museum or at least in Stan Lee's foyer. Who's with me?

You have lots of amazing items . . . maybe one day the masses will turn away their attention away from Jim D'Amico's monopoly of eternal favorites' ;)
