DescriptionAgain, had to jump at the chance to get a few of these. Two concurrent pages of story in one fell swoop, ROM in EVERY panel of both pages. At this point of the saga, Mantlo was beginning to stretch things out a bit, with a little more talk than story, but the 'Seven Samurai' vibe of the final storyline was a pleasure.I distinctly recall being annoyed at the time of publication with Ditko's being assigned to one of my favorite books. Shows what I knew. Ditko's pencils were drawing a crowd of appreciative professionals (including Layton, Russell and Byrne) who were only too eager to ink a few pages by the Master. Willing to trade for pages from ROM ANNUAL #2 or appropriate pages from MICRONAUTS. Social/Sharing |

Congratulations on picking up a very nice pair of pages by super artists! I like these much better in black-and-white than color. Russell's inks look great over Ditko's pencils.

Ditko and Russell sounds like a VERY odd combination, style wise, but darned if it doesn't work here!

I remember having the same reaction. Who is this awful artist assigned to my favourite book. Ditko is an acquired taste...and he did great work on Rom...

I remember being pissed, also. I think that Ditko was treated with less respect by the Marvel youngsters than he deserved. I love PCR in any capacity, and we are so lucky that he got a chance to ink Ditko here.

Like a previous poster said, seems strange to see these two greats, but the result is stunning.
