DescriptionI bought this page on a bit of an impulse, shortly after John Romita Sr's passing. I admit to a little confusion at the purchase, as I had been dimly aware that John Sr. had done the cover of this famous inter-company crossover, but had forgotten that John Buscema had provided the interiors. Ah, well. Still a fine page, from a fondly-remembered issue, to add to my DOOM collection.I'd forgotten how clever this story was. Clark Kent and Peter Parker do a little professional switcheroo, with Kent in Manhattan, working briefly at the Daily Bugle and crossing wits with J Jonah Jameson, and Parker hanging out in Metropolis at the Daily Planet and learning a thing or two from Perry White. It also has Superman engaging in a fascinating debate with Victor Von Doom on the nature and responsibility of 'power.' Funny that Supes would philosophically connect with Doom more naturally than many other characters in his own Universe, even Luthor. Great writing by Jim Shooter. It looks like there was a slew of background inkers for this project, but the main figure inker was Jolt'n Joe Sinnott, so I'll credit him here. Social/Sharing |

Doom has best arguments in comics. Bah! No coming back from that one. I guess you could pffttt but that's about it.

Pages from this cross-over bring me back to June 1981 everytime. Consider me Jelly :) , as most from the issue are grails to me.

Nice and unusual, as there were only three publishd Superman stories by Big John ever (and this is from the first one) !
