Description

After getting her father to OAX 2025, and then helping him through the show, Ulan took the reigns leading the family on a cross-country commission frenzy leaving nothing but joy and unicorn poop in her wake. I'm lucky to have friends in the community who were able to get me on her list during the California leg of her tour.

I simply requested "Star Wars - artist's choice" for inspiration. Ulan chose to present Leia (rightly) as a tall central figure among the chaos of the galactic struggle which is grounded in the background. But her sight line is heavenwards, towards the future and the peaceful stars. I totally scored on this one.

Do not be tempted to think that Ulan will be a shooting star, a brilliant flash then gone. Her date mark besides her signature merely teases any such assumption. Instead, it recognizes her heritage. Like Halley's Comet, an Abrera comes around every generation to share with us their great talent. We live in a wondrous time to be able to witness the birth of this new star.

So glad to see her producing these early masterpieces. Years from now, when I'm long gone and she is a shining star in the art world, I hope she will find joy in revisiting the raw brilliance of these fledgling works. Congratulations on being one of the lucky recipients.

Amazing! Ulan could be my new favorite Abrera! I'm relieved to see that she has not yet begun to use her father's brightly colored markers because I don't think the world is quite ready for such brilliance!

Much like Leia bringing hope to the Rebellion and the greater Galaxy, Ulan brings hope to the art world with her undeniable talent! This Leia is so moving that Lucasfilm publishing will be breathing down your neck begging you to allow this not only to be published as a 1:25 variant cover for an upcoming title TBA, but it will be on loan for the opening of the Lucas Narrative Arts Musuem in 2026, viewing by reserved appointment only! May the Force Be With Ulan!

Ulan is the greatest talent to enter OAX, CAX, IAX whatever you want to call the damn show! You got her mom's favorite piece and your write up is from a galaxy far far away! I love it!

This is absolutely wonderful! The charming simplicity and expressive details, from her big eyes to the tiny blaster-wielding creatures, show a great sense of creativity. The colorful stars and giant, handwritten name add a personal, magical touch, making this a truly heartfelt and imaginative tribute to the beloved Star Wars heroine. And let’s be honest, at her young age, Ulan has already far surpassed her father in artistic brilliance! Fantastic work!

Riley loved this and created a recreation a while back. She was very inquisitive the day I was looking at Ulan art and wanted to take a try drawing a piece. It just so happened to be this one.
