Description

Another great page by my favorite Conan duo, John Buscema at the pencils and Alfredo Alcala inking. The beginning of this year is really like no other, bringing more beauties every week. This is one is sort of gift from myself to myself, using the holiday season as an excuse ;-)

This page has a different atmosphere from my previous post, with Conan playing the role of prince charming and saving a damsel in distress... Yeah, maybe not Prince Charming but still saving the day!!

Artistically signed by Alcala at the bottom. Love it!

Nice one for sure. And it's rare to find an Alcala signature on them. Issue 7 was a great issue.

The amount of work Alcala puts into each panel is amazing. Great page!

Alcala inking on Big John was something very weird. You could say there was too much Alcala at the end, sometimes on human faces, more Alfredo than John. Sometimes not, probably because John pencils were tighter. Some big John fans do not like the final job. For me Alcala add something to John work, not to mention backgrounds work, something which reminds me of some Pulp illustration and I loved it ! It added a fantastic atmosphere to the drawings and even if it was not anymore pure Buscema it was a wonderful job. A lot of memories too with these pages. Congratulations !
