Description

Drew Struzan, the renowned illustrator who created the movie poster art for "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and its three sequels, "Back to the Future" and its two sequels, the re-release of the "Star Wars" trilogy, the "Star Wars" prequels, and of course the Muppet movies drew this rockin' Muppets illustration. This montage of the Muppets was a concept sketch done for merchandising purposes, and showcases Dr. Teeth and his band members, as well as Kermit the Frog, who is playing banjo at the upper left. The work is graphite on vellum. Someday in my lifetime I hope to own a finished Struzan painting, but this was definitely a treat to buy. Seeing what a "rough" comp from Drew looks like, it's easy to see why he is one of the most highly respected artists out there.
