Description

Artist Khoi Pham recently held a sale of his original comic art, and I scooped up four pages at great prices. I chose a couple of his Hercules pages because I loved the Incredible Hercules series that ran for a couple of years in 2008-2010, taking over from Incredible Hulk in the aftermath of the World War Hulk event.

This is a page from Incredible Hulk #112, the last issue before it was retitled Incredible Herc, but it's really the beginning of the focus on Hercules. I chose this page not only because there are some great Herc panels, but Amadeus Cho is featured prominently as well. Writers Greg Pak and Fred van Lente crafted a wonderfully fun character in the teenage genius, and he was even better when paired with Hercules, his polar opposite. Brains and brawn.

I love the panel layouts here and the detail Pham puts into his depictions of Hercules. The final panel has a fair bit of whiteout on it, showing how meticulously the artist approached his rendering of the hero.
