Description

If pressed to name my second favorite published page from the original Marvel Two in One 76 comic, this would be it. Using the old adage (largely forgotten) that every comic book is someone's first comic book, this page had to help all newbie readers get up to speed and set up many of the key pieces that followed. The almost-splash page of Ringmaster's villainous Circus of Crime members showcasing their powers had me hooked. I am a sucker for exposition and this page has it in spades -- what with Cannonball, the Flying Gambonnos, the Crafty Clown, Firebreather, Tarrax the Tamer, and Princess Python all showing off their respective powers.

Given my high reverence for the source material, I was especially selective about the artist to entrust with reinterpreting this pivotal page. Who better than the amazing Will Meugniot (Tigra, Marvel Team Up, DNAgents, NEDOR Agents) to do the honors? No one, that's who.

As usual, Will was a complete joy to work with. Great communication before, during and after the commission. Fast work and - once again - Will totally over-delivered on this drawing by filling the entire page with high octane action in the Mighty Marvel Manner. My sincere thanks to him for doing such an incredible job.

Why did I know as soon as I saw Will's name attached to this commission that the Princess would be front and center on this commission. :)

Will has a distinct style that makes every woman gorgeous and easily identifiable as his.
