I haven’t posted in a while, busy with other things, so glad to be back to it! Here’s the 1st of a couple Spider-Man related pieces I’m posting today, and my first piece from Carlo Barberi.

This is from the ASM story arc titled “Spiral” by Gerry Conway and Carlo. Overall, it’s a fun story but what I liked most was Carlo’s art – he really killed it, particularly with some splashy Spidey images. Case in point!

Awesome that you’ve got a swingin’ Spidey and floatin’ Wraith in every panel but the featured image is that Spidey up top – honestly one of my favorite Spider-Man panels. I think Carlo just nailed it – pose, perspective, detailing…the whole bit. Marvel must have thought so, too, as this image was used as the opening page of the collected trade. I was hoping to pair up with the inked page but Juan Vlasco did that digitally but that’s fine – very happy to have just this.

Thanks to my boy, B. Sharp, for calling me up when he saw Carlo had this at Palm Springs Comic Con!
